| My Love, The Rain. |
I was walkin’ along
the road;
You were also coming
with me on a chariot, I noticed!
I asked you not to
come with me, the boredom would surround you.
But, your stubbornness
has defeated me.
You know that I’m
nothing without you;
You know that I won’t
be able to endure without you.
You just came along
with me for these silly reasons;
I’m so glad that I’ve
someone who is so benevolent.
I was going to do a
work, when you accompanied me.
I entered the pied-a-terre,
got busy.
I’d warned you.
You’re so solicitous
that you started pourin’ down!
I was overwhelmed;
I sat down and kept
admirin’!
The work which was to
be done, was kept undone.
I was hypnotised by
your drizzlin’ attitude.
I was sittin’ beside
the door while you were pourin’ for me.
I wanted to quaff
you.
I thought it would to
a sin if I take my eyes off from you;
And I kept lovin’
you!
The shower, touchin’
the ground, was unrollin’ the odour of the earthy whiff all around;
Forcin’ the livin’
souls to embrace you around.
Finally I jumped under
you, and your engulfin’ drops touched my lips and I kissed it;
And said, “My love,
the Rain!”

What a lovely poem, Subham. Every single line of the poem demonstrates your love for the rain. I really love the ending paragraph. After reading it, I felt the droplets kissing my cheeks. Keep up the great work, bro.
ReplyDeleteThank you Yatin Bhaiya. I'm glad that you like the last para. And thank you for your unconditional support.
DeleteSubham, I can write lot of words to appreciate your thoughts which you have put in this poem, but I'll like to write a single word for it - 'Perfect'.
ReplyDeleteThis really means a lot for me. Thank you for the appreciation. I'm glad that you like the poem.
DeleteWell Rain, At first when i read I thought you are describing about a girl who accompanied you in rain but subsequently the girl changed to rain that was dizzling. Nature is the best gift and you have greatly admired the love for rain....
ReplyDeleteYes. Thank you.
DeleteLovely poem Subham. We often complain when it rains. But the manner in which you described the rain is beautiful and I wish it rained now:)

Thank you Ma'am. I'm glad that you like my poem.
DeleteHi Subham,
ReplyDeleteThat was wonderful indeed :)
As everyone, especially the Ahaian's, as I see them here, mentioned, one can make out your love for the rains. I think even your earlier post, the one with the video showed just that - and I am glad the rainy season is coming up soon now. Nicely written poem, especially the last few lines. Keep it up!
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead, and I'd meet you here once I'm back from my blogging break now :)
I'm glad that you like my poem ma'am. And I'd be grateful if your join us soon.
DeleteThis is an interesting poem. I was a bit confused at first on how you were using the metaphor of the rain but once the poem unfolded, I noticed your direction. I would rework the beginning perhaps to better reflect how you are using this metaphor of the rain and to avoid confusion. I enjoyed the ambiguity you develop between the rain and a person throughout the poem.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm glad that you liked my work.
DeleteYou know how to say a story in a beautiful way! Totally loved it! Keep writing for BAT!
